A common occurance that will surprise you…

Hey everyone,

Aleem here from the Mortgage Centre. I hope that you have had a chance to check out my previous blog post, where I described our 10 year mortgage strategy..if not you owe it to yourself to check it out (click here).

Today I wanted to discuss something that I experienced just this last week, with a colleague of mine from a major financial institution.

My bank colleague called me to see if I could help with financing his new home purchase!

The most surprising part of this, is not what you are thinking. What I think will surprise you the most is how many times I have fielded a similar call from a colleague working for a bank during my career as an independent Mortgage Planner, and how many mortgages I have done for bank reps and employees over the years.

There are a couple of things that really inspired me to blog about this though.

One, was the actual conversation that I had with my colleauge. I asked him why, despite being a Mortgage Specialist with a top tier bank (and a very successful one I might add), would he come to someone like myself when it came to his own mortgage. His reply was simple and concise. He said “Aleem, two things, options and flexibility”.

The other compelling inspriation behind this blog post, are a few prospective clients earlier this year who were struggling between using our services and sticking with their bank. I hope reading this brings further resolve to your decision.

Now, don’t you find it interesting that the people who are working in these instituions see the value in using the services of an independent Mortgage Planner?

I think this is says a lot! If you have any questions about your mortgage, please feel free to give me a call anytime.

For the Mortgage Centre, I’m Aleem Peermohamed.
